Keeping this public owned property public and preserved as open space is the best use for all of Bainbridge. Please do the right thing and support the Park District's proposal. Thanks!

This is a wonderful location for a park. Let's keep this for the whole community to enjoy.

Save public lands and our wildlife corridor. We can't get it back if you don't stop this!

I adore this park. My daughters and I love to watch dragonflies in the summer bounce on the pond and hear the sounds of Nature as we sit on the bench. Please keep this space natural.

The community needs to join together to preserve open space, not just for parks but for conservation and to retain valuable wetlands and forests. The time is now.

Didn't realize that there were plans to clear cut old growth and over-develop the land, until I saw it on the Seattle News this weekend... Awkward...Let's build affordable housing on property that's already been cleared and deserves a 2nd lease on life!

After walking this property today, I'm more convinced than ever that it must be preserved for this and future generations.

The Suzuki property is ideally located as a park to serve the Island. Open space is high on the priority list for saving against commercial development.

Land paid for by the public belongs to the community. There is no justification for privatizing the land or for selling it to developers for anyone's profit. Development of the Suzuki property will only cost the community, both financially as we then must pay for new infrastructure and environmentally as development of the property will inevitably lead to destruction of the mature forest and it wildlife.

Too dense already. New Brooklyn and Sportsman Club cannot support more traffic.

I'm in favor of a publicly-owned park for the Suzuki property. There is already heavy morning and afternoon school traffic on Sportsman Club and I also favor integrating low-income housing throughout the Island rather than clustered in special low-income neighborhoods. Respectfully, Louis Richard.

Keep these existing pockets of natural environment to maintain some sort of balance to our community. Air, water, shade, wildlife, native species preservation don't bring in dollars to the city's piggy bank-however, amenities such as this make Bainbridge Island a very desirable place to live-and that brings in higher property tax dollars, tourism dollars and higher value housing. Find another place for affordable housing. There are restrictions in place regarding the removal of trees on private property and it's a big no-no to alter a wetland - and those are also restrictions which attempt to preserve the the natural environment and quality of life. Place the affordable housing development on bus routes into the city areas if transportation is a problem. Didn't we learn anything from our past design mistakes of the Safeway complex, or Harborview, or our latest mistake, the Walgreens Key Bank development? This is a unique community, and efforts should be made to preserve those features which define this community, not develop it so we look like Redmond, or Kirkland, and certainly not a California model of development. Joni Mitchell had it right - they pave paradise and put up a parking lot.

To harm the Suzuki property would truly be s crime against nature! Too much building has already gone up on Bainbridge creating traffic problems and loss of natural habitat within the city area of Winslow that has ruined the feel of our beautiful small town. Please don't harm this beautiful old growth forest. Long Island NY (where I come from) had so many farms and forests. Then developers bought most of them up and turned them into housing developments and shopping malls. Only a few very forward thinking communities got together to save their woodlands and farms and those communities became the most valuable on LI. Please save the old growth forest for generations of islanders to come.

My daughter lives on Bainbridge Island. The reason we love it there so much is the beauty of the island, the small town feel, friendly culture and rural character. I am disappointed to hear that city council is considering entrusting this precious gem to development. I think it would be a great tragedy, an irreplaceable loss, and a huge regret to sell this lot, and would be a decision viewed poorly upon by majority of citizens.
