Preserve Saltwater Recreation in Virginia!

This is a problem that needs to be addresed immediatley

These are preventing the Belle Isle Marina kayaker from being able to paddle safely across to Factory Point. Very dangerous.

there needs to be a balance that protects the recreational opportunities that help make Virginia beach a tourist destination and helps protect property values of waterfront homeowners.

I am in favor of tougher laws as to the leasing of waterways to waterman to use to harvest and collect oysters. I live on the water and enjoy the water everyday. These cages are dangerous to everyone that uses the water or swims, boats or just walk in these shallow areas.

I favor stricter limits be imposed on commercial oyster farming.

We live off of Broadbay and it is a family friendly body of water that we would like to continue to enjoy.

I strongly support this petition.

I would like to see the water ways safe and clear of all oyster and crab cages and their attached buoys.

We are on Mill Dam Creek. They have been putting them right off our boat lift. At a pretty narrow spot. Makes it hard to move through the waterway.

Oyster leases are being approved with no consideration on impact to navigation (unless shown on Army Corp of Engineer Charts) in decades old neighborhood channels. As a result waterfront homeowners (or homeowner associations) access to waterways may be advserly impacted. This matter needs to be regulated and modified so all parties will benefit

I would like to see tougher restrictions placed on commercial oyster farming and aquaculture practices that are happening too close to residential areas

I am all for local oyster farming within the boundry's of a citizens deeded property rights. Oyster farming does in fact provide valuable benefits to the health of our waterways. Should those boundry's encroach into a thoughfare however, I am not in support of commercial endeavors that will restrict or cause harm to those using our waterways for peaceful transit, enjoyment and environment contemplation.

Commercial oyster operations are not compatible with the residential, heavily populated Lynnhaven River watershed.

This is much needed.

These waterways are heavily used and enjoyed by many people, yet are becoming increasingly dangerous with more and more obstacles.
