Being a current Richwood Student, the city of & school of Richwood holds so many special moments in my heart. I couldn't imagine going to school in a foreign place with many MANY new students. With Richwood being such a small school & having this type of comfortable and homely environment I know all my teacher and they know me personally. I pray that the BOE takes the children into consideration, and remembers how we go from a small rural area to a huge 1000+ child school. I know, that's an average school for America, but that's not an average school to all the kids already falling behind with the help of multiple teachers pushing them, that's not average to all the teachers used to have 20 or less students in a class, and that not average for all the students in Nicholas County as a whole. Maybe we need to be more considerate of the heart strings being pulled and less pushy with consolidation. Whatever the BOE decides to do, I will be prepared, but maybe my words will have impact on someone important. I pray for richwood, the school, and community, along with all of Nicholas County. I pray we get through this tragic occurance and we come together for what's best for our schools.

It is absolutely within the best interests of the students and community to leave our schools in Richwood.

We will survive. Get out behind the desk and look at the kids. Take time out and talk to them. If you don't give them respect in this situation they won't have respect for you. Talk to the kids and look a their faces. They have had enough heartbreak.

If it's truly about kids, the data says more kids are harmed. Stop the madness. Don't consolidate.

A local school brings the community together and gives the students, the folks who live there, and those of us who come back a place where we are always welcome and call home.
