Why can't we keep it as is. Horses only. Look at all the beautiful paths our city has special built for walkers, runners and bike riders. Lets let horseback riders have their path. They don't get to use the walkers, runners and bikers paths.

These trails are so much fun for everyone. They are loved dearly by so many people please dont take them away.

We know the hard work horse back riders have put in this park - the Plumlee's worked to preserve it before their passing - this is needed in Wichita & adding bikes will only enhance the potential danger due to the blind spots and curving trails...bicyclist have access thru a portion of the park to get to their bike trail. I might also add that as a horseback rider, I have picked up a lot of trash left by other users of these trails.

Cindy Ford, Rose Hill, KS. This has been a place I have rode for years and continue to take youth riders to explore of ever disappearing land of wildlife and nature. Please preserve this for hikers and horseman to continue our back to nature trek. Bikers have paved paths throughout the world, we ask to save this for those of us enjoying nature and not being disturbed and startled by a wheeled apparatus in the woods. Please keep this land as it was intended and know we need more like it in the surrounding counties. This is a part of life that is disappearing way to fast.

This is a recreational area designed for foot and horseback traffic. A more bike- friendly Wichita would have bike lanes for commuting, not recreational trails for racing. I know many cyclists who view the twisting trails of Pawnee Prairie as a near-perfect layout for mountain bike racing, which is certainly recreational, but not a style of riding that is conducive to coexist with hiking a horseback riding. Please keep cyclists out of Pawnee Prairie.

Once this is gone, there is no going back. What a loss of a unique "cowtown" legacy if access to cyclists is allowed. Please protect this park as a horse trail.

Please DO NOT allow bikes on these trails. Bikes have so many other places to go that horses do not. Keep these strictly for horses and hikers.

Why is this coming up again?
It was settled once . No bikes.
Perhaps horses and riders could be allowed along the River Walk or in Riverside Park. Some riders have horses capable enough to ride the bike lanes around town . If not considered a fair trade then keep the bike ban at Pawnee Prarie Park.

Being new resident for 4 yrs .. To Kansas .. I am surprised that there are not more horsetrails ...?? Please do not let this disappear to bikers .. That can easily relocate .. This is not what the family that donated the land intended ..!!

I have no ill will towards cyclists, and in fact, enjoy cycling myself. However, bicycles do not belong on these trails. If bicycles were allowed on these trails, it would be absolutely impossible to hike along them with even the slightest feeling of comfort and safety during the hike. I would not feel safe leading my daughters and wife on a hike through these trails knowing that there may be a cyclist "coming up just around the bend". Let's all coexist within reason, please.
