Part of the Islands charm is the natural look it has. If due to flooding the islands have to be closed at certain times then we accept this. To put flood prevention in will take away the river views we all have from months old to 100+ at present.

Ness Islands have been a much loved part of my family's history for three generations, for walks, games and picnics. It is always a disappointment when it is not possible to access the Islands because of the danger of flooding and it would be a huge loss for Inverness if a failure to protect the area led to its disappearance.

Some of my very first steps would have been taken during family walks through the beloved Ness Islands back in the 60s! Into the 70s there would have been multiple games of hide and seek. The Islands are still a lovely and popular walk for families who need to get out and about with their children. Then there are our older folk who like a walk through with their dogs. I can't see how there would be no economic benefit when I've always thought the Ness Islands were popular with visitors too. Worth protecting at all costs.

Thinking erosion measures would be beneficial to the islands. Wouldn't like to see concrete walls being built. Difficult times fo local authority to consider flood prevention. Northern Meeting Park could be used at short notice for events during flooding.

The Ness Islands are hailed as a top tourist attraction by many Inverness guide books. If action is not taken now to prevent the flooding then Inverness will loose this valuable attraction forever.

I think it would be well worthwhile to do some research on the best type of long-term flood defences for Ness Islands, to protect them for our grand-children, and their grandchildren, and their grandchildren etc etc etc etc

if money can be found to fund an unnecessary artwork on the river between the Grieg street bridge and the Black bridge why does the council struggle to spend money where it IS necessary?
