This is short sighted. Not many cities have such a jewel at their heart. It is horrendous that these cuts are being imposed on Councils when the power is there to raise taxes.

This beauty spot must be preserved. It's not all about business/housing - our natural environment is part of our "economy" too.

The Islands have to be preserved for future generations and in memory of past generations and marketed to encourage visitors to use this green facility .

We are very lucky to have such a beautiful wooded island area in the centre of town, appreciated by locals and visitors alike. It should be maintained so that it remains an attraction in the future.

The Islands is the jewel in the heart of Inverness and as such should be protected and invested in , New trees planted , old trees turned into sculptures and protected from erosion .

Ness Islands are fabulous. Let's try to keep them as a great local attraction, which aren't under water for lengthy periods of time.

The islands are a much more deserving case for investment and protection than the ill-conceived 'Tilting Bridge'

I lived in Inverness for four years and visit regularly. We loved to walk over the islands and would hate to lose this.

The islands are an area of natural beauty. They are also essential they allow the river ness to flood safely
