Keep Confederate monuments and statues where they stand. We don’t need an Americanize version of the French Revolution where the Jacobins endeavored to change time and rewrite history.

It is history! Many people died and they should not be forgotten. This entire country is marked with deaths that show what we have all been through. To remove this monument is to say these people died for nothing.

Leave our history alone, no government body should ever be able to just remove any markers or statues of any kind whatsoever

Leave the confederate statues alone or we will be taking down all of the civil right leaders as well. When does the city give in to terrorist threats by the way. All the time. The actual tax payers and voters know better then the leaches in the streets. We would be marching but we got bills to pay so we work.

I want to let you know that I am offended by the way people want to tear down historical markers, monuments and anything else that offends them. I am offended by those who want to erase anything that honors GOD...but I am a law abiding citizen and I don't march around in a black mask with a ball bat and a can of paint and a heart full of hatred . Yes, our country's past has some shameful things ...what country doesn't? Where will all of this appeasing these people end? Meanwhile, you are spending taxpayer's money to move these things. These people should be paying to move them if they don't like them. It isn't going to change history one iota...but the old saying goes, Those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it.

The past should not be judged by looking through the lens of today

This crap is getting out of hand. Everyone on both sides needs to quit wearing their feelings on their sleeves and worry about something relevant to the current and not something that nobody on either side even lived through.

History should not be censored, hitorical preservation should not discriminate based on the ideals of those who have so much hate in them that it is the only thing they see when they look around is hatred. People now a day simply look for things to be offended by rather than creating new history.

Education is what people need. I want the monument to stay and I embrace all races and cultures. By someone attacking our local history and running away is a coward and a terrorist in my book.

I am so sick of how the true southerns are being treated. I am very proud of my past and my ancestors. I had people on both sides and even brother and son against each other. We have had several die in battle. We even had a father and his seven sons in the same war. Im proud of all of them for standing up for what was wright. And if these people who vandalize and tear up property would look deeper in there roots they would find out so much more about what being a true southern is. They help othere forgive others for there short falls. And they thank God for what they have.

I really hate that people are "condemning" these statues. What people fail the realize the soft drink coca cola was created by a confederate general and no one fails to pull it from the shelves
