Jaccos Towne Lodge 21 - Order of the Arrow

On September 17, 2016 the Lodge Executive Committee (LEC) met to discuss the design and implementation of a program that would consolidate the existing 11 Chapter’s Ordeals into three. The result would be that Chapters who currently conduct their own ordeals would be asked to close their ordeal rings to participate in one of three regional Ordeals run by the Lodge elected leadership. The Order of the Arrow and the Boy Scouts of America is a youth led organization.

By adding my name to this petition, I indicate that I am against the consolidation of Chapter Ordeals. I would welcome members and/or candidates from outside my chapter to participate in my Chapter’s Ordeal should that Chapter not have the resources to conduct their own. I believe that each Chapter within the lodge has worked hard to create its own unique traditions, leadership, relationship with its camp and individual culture. I believe the Lodge should concentrate on working with the smaller or non-active chapters to insure their own success rather than to effectively dismantle the activities of successful Chapters.
