Preserve Measure E Site Options

Can Palo Alto build a more sustainable future? We already do pretty well, but we can do even better. Let's make good things happen and show the rest of the Bay Area how it’s done!

Please explore opportunities to utilize the Measure E site for a sustainability facility to convert sewage sludge (and perhaps other organic waste streams) into renewable energy and biochar to help preserve a livable planet.

Palo Alto needs to do everything possible to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions. Our current solution of trucking waste off site actually increases our emissions, since trucking produces exhaust emissions. There are current technologies that could be established on the Measure E site for environmentally sound waste processing - pyrolysis is one example.

We don't have time to lose or to make the wrong decisions on reducing our impact on reducing our greenhouse gas emissions. Please take advantage of opportunities to use the Measure E site for a sustainability facility. Katia Reeves

I strongly support preserving the Measure E site until all options are thoroughly evaluated for potential use for alternative energy generation. Palo Alto owes this to our community and planet!

We should keep our options open. It would be far better to process our own wastes locally, while cutting emissions.

I support local processing of waste into usable organic materials. Shipping our waste to other parts of the county seems selfish and unsustainable.

I hope you will take time to consider these improved methods of treating waste before deciding what to do with the land in question.

Palo Alto needs to fulfill the promise of Measure E, not nullify it for parkland that would be the nearest neighbor to the City's waste treatment plant.

We worked hard to protect the environmental opportunities within Palo Alto and now you are ignoring Measure E. This needs to be kept as an opportunity for Palo Alto to take a responsible position on a sustainable facility, not to dumb down and abandon the opportunity to plan for the future. Please retain Measure E site for future needs.

Preserve the Measure E site for an option that helps us handle our municipal organics in an environmentally friendly and climate responsible way.

Emerging technologies can help Palo Alto slow climate change. We must keep the Measure E site available for these uses.

Please take time to consider long-term solutions to sustainability for the city - the site next to the sewage plant is an ideal place for conversion of sewage sludge and organic stuff .... please, we have plenty of parks but need this "smelly" spot to process our waste ecologically! ... take time to consider the options, please

This is a perfect location for the facility

Don't go against a measure that passed by 65%. Voters spoke then about their priorities and not enough has changed to reverse the vote. We're still hauling waste and harming the environment

Reducing greenhouse gas emissions is the best way to support a healthy environment and should be the guiding principle in determining the best use of the Measure E site.

We must make make greenhouse gas mitigation our highest priority. The Measure E site is a small price to pay in this effort.

Please do not make this mistake.

Please, actively explore the options for this land which exploit its proximity to the sewage treatment plant for technologies which improve our environment, such as pyrolysis or conversion of sewage into potable water.
