Preserve Measure E Site Options

Please help lead the way to a better future here on the Peninsula.

We need to factor climate change into all of our decisions, and weigh it extremely heavily.

Please consider the new IPCC report when making the decision.

Palo Alto has ambitious climate protection goals, including becoming carbon neutral by 2030. Sustainable technologies will play a critical role in enabling us to meet our goals. The Measure E site, right next to the wastewater treatment plant, is an ideal location for an environmental facility.

Anaerobic digestion is a vital solution for Palo Alto’s sustainable & self-reliant future.

Can’t believe you wouldn’t do this!!

This is a no-brainer. Let's join RWC in leading the way to a local sustainable energy source. Just do it, please.

Let’s go green heart

Don’t we have enough park land? Let’s not throw away the ability to use this space to decrease our carbon footprint. We collected 6,000 signatures to put measure E on the ballot where it received 65% of the vote. Let’s leave ourselves at least 10 more years to see what new options the future may offer for the space. Once it reverts to park land, we have lost all options for alternatives.

I agree with the proponents of this petition regarding Measure E site opitions. The council should seriously consider the option for conversion of organic waste into reusable energy. It is a proposal that has been examined and reexamined many times oner a long period of time, and remains highly viable. It is a win-win mechanism at both a local and a global level, to reduce emissiions of greenhouse gases, while producing useful clean energy that can be used locally to alleviate the high cost of hydrocarbon fuels such as gas. Have you checked out your gas bill recently? I have, and it's outlandish! We've turned our radiant heater off and wear parkas arouind the house the last month.

Please don't send our waste somewhere out of town.

Sustainability is a vital priority. Please respect the commitment we voters have already made to conversion technology on the Measure E site.

Please support the proposal to use the Measure E site for the conversion of organic waste and sludge into reusable energy. This use would profit us so much more than another park, and be a leading example of what small cities like Palo Alto can do to combat global warming. Let's not be silly here, and miss this opportunity.

We have plenty of parkland in a variety of locations. We need to increase options for sustainability.

I respect Peter Drekmeier very much and am happy to support any important cause that he recommends.

Dear Mayor and City Council, please do not eliminate our options for our future. A sustainability facility may be feasible now or within the near future. Please do not dedicate this land to parkland. Please keep our options open to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Recycling by reusing are own sludge.
