Any child can learn multiple languages and this has shown how it improves all other aspects of learning. It it's a success, why cut the funding??

It's important to preserve diversity and the Chinese language can be a competitive edge for school age children as emerging leaders of this global world.

We applaud the Chinese program that the district has provided in the past. 3 of our children have benefitted greatly from their dedicated teachers and we would like our 4th child to keep up with her older brothers in learning Chinese. PVPUSD should continue this program with zeal and passion, educating the next generation with great global Chinese language skill for them to thrive and give back to the community. Small class size and well trained and dedicated teachers are the keys to success for all. Please make teaching postions available and program available to all students at PVIS, Ridgecrest, PV and Pen High.

Please keep the Chinese language program at PVPUSD middleschools. Both my kids have benefited immensely from this program. Mr. Ong is a fantastic teacher and really prepares the kids for High School foreign language so well.

In this globalization and multi-culture society, we came to appreciate that PVPUSD had offered Mandarin Chinese in the school district and continued support to preserve the second language skill education for our future young doctors, lawyers, scientists, ... etc. It is a great learning and cultural enriching experience in Mandarin Chinese for my son, Please keep up with the good work, your efforts would be noticed and appreciated by the parents/students and all the incoming families.

We should be proud we offer Chinese in our school district. But to reduce the staff doesn't help expand the program. WE have excellent Chinese teachers at RIS, Mrs. Alice Ong, and because of her, many go onto study the language in HS. At PVPHS, Mrs. Grace Anderson, loves all her students, and already carries a full day's load of teaching levels 1,2,3, 3H, 4, and 4AP, so how do you propose to reduce any further.

We do not want to see the Mandarin program at PVPUSD reduced in any way. Our daugther has taken Mandarin for 3 years at PVIS and is entering 9th grade at PV High School next year. She planned to take Chinese 3 and 4 at PV high school and has worked extremely hard to reach level 3-we are NOT a Chinese speaking household. Our son will be in 6th grade at PVIS next year and also plans to take Mandarin. Please don't let our students down.
