Please keep this program. Situation like this makes me want to move to another city or attend private school that won't sacrifice student further.

If our school district wants to maintain a solid, well rounded academic program, it must continue offering students a wide range of rigorous areas of study, including a variety of foreign languages.

Mrs. Ong has been a very important part of our son's middle-school experience. She is a terrific educator and has helped our son a great deal with his journey to learn Chinese.

Mrs. Ong is an amazing Chinese teacher and it would be a great loss to PVUSD if she is no longer teaching at Ridgecrest. From personal experience, she has reached out to us several times in regards to our son with very positive and helpful advice.

Mrs. Ong is an amazing and thoughtfull teacher. She always encourages us to try hard, and to not give up if you don't get something. Mrs. Ong made such a hard language easy.

delete Chinese is definitely my favorite class at Ridgecrest. I have learned the most from the class out of all my other ones. Wang (Ong) Laoshi explains everything clearly and makes sure everyone understands the topic before moving on. Chinese is also a great skill to have in life. If you are going into buisness, it is helpful to know the language of China, where you might get a lot of buisness. Also, bilingual kids are proven to do better in school. Chinese not only is the most spoken language in the world, but is one of the hardest to learn. Wang (Ong) Laoshi makes it easier than it seems, and all the obstacles I have overcome to learn how to pronunciate correctly and write in the correct strokes helps improve my determination, persistance, and hard working traits. I just don't thinks it is fair to get rid of Wang (Ong) Laoshi and have Anderson Laoshi or Wang Laoshi have to teach all the schools. Plus, Ridgecrest has a very good enrollment rate for Chinese and is an optional class. So, PVPUSD, please don't cut the Chinese program. #SaveWangLaoshi

One of the most crucial, forward-minded languages to currently teach - not a niche or cultural heritage-only subject.

I support having a Chinese language program at the PV schools. Mandarin is much more important than French or German. Look at the number of people in the world who speak Mandarin. Find the funds to continue this important curriculum component.
