Please don't let Mrs. Ong go!!! We all love her so much and have learned plenty about how Chinese characters relate to one another and about Chinese culture. I came into that class clueless about what I was going to learn, and now I can write, understand, and speak many Chinese characters. Our whole class loves her and we won't let her be taken away from her passion of teaching!!!

My son has been learning Chinese for five years now since he started middle school. I hope that he will be able to continue learning Chinese through out his high school.

Thanks for organizing this. When the district wastes money in other arenas, it must compensate somehow. This is unacceptable.

A school district that strives to be "world class" should not be scaling back its Chinese language program.

It's very important to keep Chinese program for kids because they definitely will use it no matter what they will work on in the futures

It is important to keep the program in PVPUSD. Eliminating Chinese language program will put our students in huge disadvantaging comparing to peers in other disctrict who have the chance to learn.

I am all for the option of having Chinese language in middle school and find that it is an invaluable experience the kids at ridgecrest and penn high receive!

learning Chinese and any language should be mandatory in every school, the fact that this is in jeopardy is sad. I hope that we can mantain it.

I took Chinese when I was in middle school and it really assisted me in learning my own culture. It would be a true shame if this program was discontinued and my siblings would not be able to learn. Thank you!

Please continue and keep the Chinese language program. It is imperative that there is at least one Chinese language instructor per school. Cutting down to one Chinese language provider for all the 4 schools is doing a disservice to the teacher and the students. Our students need to be competitive and ready to cope in this global economy.

To remain competitive PVP children need the option of studying Chinese, perhaps the most important business language for the next 20 years.
