I'd like to request the district fund Chinese Language program for our children throughout middle & high schools. It can only benefit our children's career in their future.

My son is very interested in learning Chinese and I think it would be an important investment in our children's future employability to maintain Chinese language instruction.

Ms. Wang at PVHS is a nightmare. My children would have been better off doing independent study. Please, send her to PVIS only and get a real teacher at PVHS!!

I am a seventh grader taking Chinese in Ridgecrest and I sincerely enjoy it. Mrs. Ong is an outstanding teacher who knows exactly how to teach students an absolute foreign, different language in ways that are thorough, helpful, and non-stressful. She is kind to her student and I would be very disappointed if she was to be let off.

I am glad that my brother is learning Chinese, and want him to continue learning. We moved here specifically for the Chinese program, and do not want it to go away. From what my brother tells me, Mrs. Ong is a wonderful teacher and I want her to keep teaching.

For the past three years, I've been taking Chinese at Ridgecrest. Despite what some people feel, the truth is that Mrs. Ong has taught us so much, even more than the curriculum. Taking Chinese in middle school allows us to get a head start for high school and also gives us different cultural experiences. Mrs. Ong is a very nice and helpful teacher. #savewanglaoshi

Learning Chinese in middle School is very important to students and incoming sixth graders. Mrs.Ong is an excellent teacher who can present hard to learn information in an easy and non stressful way. Mrs. Ong should stay at Ridgecrest and so should the Chinese Language Support in PVPUSD!

Even though I have only taken Chinese at Ridgecrest for one year, Mrs. Ong has done a phenomenal job at teaching Chinese to me and her other students. As an incoming freshman at Peninsula High School and having six years of experience in Chinese classrooms, I can easily say that Mrs. Ong brings a unique, engaging, and informative teaching method to the table. She has done an excellent job of teaching me and other students not only how to read and write Chinese very well but also how to speak it. With all this in mind, I would really be shocked to see such a great teacher be let off.

Getting rid of such a huge program is not a small situation. And to do such thing, the school board must first answer a few questions. First, is this really in the best interest of the students? Do you, as a member of the board, feel that taking away one of the most important languages as helping students? Secondly, what changed so dramatically, that getting rid of not just a teacher, but a whole language option at Ridgecrest is necessary? By getting rid of this, you are admitting to not being one of the top schools anymore. Keep this in mind. Without answering these, the school board has no right to take away something that so strongly benefits our school, our district.
