Preserve Big Wood Lake

I cannot believe this is even being considered

It would be devastating to this wonderful lake, it's community and all lakes adjoining. Please don't approve this proposal!

We should not commercialize our lakes. We need to keep our natural habitats in place. No to a RV park.

The proposed development of the Wood Lake Bible Camp property is very concerning. We need to put forward a consistent and strong voice of opposition and ensure that a comprehensive impact assessment is completed as part of the process that city/county planning boards must go through before they make a decision. I am primarily concerned about additional lake traffic, impact to lake water quality, impact to wildlife and wetland habitat and overall safety/security. Our beautiful lake is not large enough to support this kind of resort.

I have grown up fishing and swimming in that lake and feel like that would be an absolute shame to do this.

Save our lake

I grew up in Grantsburg and this lake. My dad was raised here and my grandparents lived there for years. It is home away from home. Please keep our lake non-commercialized!

The land in question had once belonged to my great grandfather. The proposed use of this land would have a devastating effect on the lake and the lake community. Big Wood is not a very big lake. A campground of this size belongs on a large body of water, like Mille Lacs. If landowners around the lake cant get on the lake, or are disturbed by the weekend renters, I fear that people will start selling and Big Wood will lose its majesty.

Please know that the State and Federal laws must be applied. Nothing can be done until all requirements are met. An Environmental Impact Study (among other things they must conduct) is required by LAW. The greed alone in this astounds me! This lake and all its beauty will be destroyed in just a matter of months. The Board members must take into consideration how much damage will be done to the environment. We don't get "do overs" folks! Why can't people just learn that some things are meant to be left alone? Why do humans feel we need to utilize every square inch of the earth all in the name of "commerce" (GREED)? This little bit of "heaven" is meant to be left alone. The habitat and all the wildlife who call Wood Lake home will be destroyed! Once destroyed it will never recover. Someone obviously has something to gain, need to put the puzzle pieces together folks. Someone on this Board has something to gain! I posted a quote when I signed this, I suggest everyone think long and hard about those words that came from a very wise man.

This would represent a significant change in the lake demand. I don't think it is a good idea. The increased contamination and boating and fishing pressure would not be good for the lake. It would not be fair to the homeowners who have been on this lake for many years.

Concerned for the quality of the lake and fishing.

I’ve been to wood lake my best friends growing up have a cabin on the lake. The lakes fishing quality has slowly gotten worse over the last 15 years due to more traffic and current lake activity. They con NOT support a rev park it’s juat not that type of area. Please don’t allow this to occur, we have already lost too many special outdoor places due to economic gain lets side with nature on this one.

No I'm not a member Big Wood Lake Association . But I live close enough to the camp on South Williams Road and I sure as heck don't want the extra traffic on my road . Its already like a race track . And that got in there it would be Ten times worse .
