Preserve Big Wood Lake

My parents own a cabin on the lake and we spend the summer weekends up there with my family.

I will join if need be

We own a family property on Big Wood lake and travel thousands of miles to enjoy it. Please NO for this proposal.

I have visited friends on the lake on many occasions. I would be much less likely to visit if the lake is significantly busier because of the RV park.

Visit family and friends on the lake annually for fishing and other water recreation. We enjoy the relative peacefulness of its moderate use

Please keep this lake as natural as possible. There are not many like it left.

IMO Wood Lake cannot handle any more fishing pressure & water traffic. Both would detract severely from its value and enjoyment offered to our area.

On almost any weekend the current safe carrying capacity on the lake in terms of boat traffic is already at its limit. The two public access points are already beyond maximum in terms of parking space.

My great grandparents donated the land for that camp and grandparents ran it for years (Vernon & Vidle Carlson) it would be a travesty to have a campground on that lake.

Family owns a cabin on Big Wood Lake

We frequently visit Wood Lake with family members and know what a gem it is. Please stop it from being ruined.

Grew up on this lake in the summertime with Family within earshot of the proposed site. Big Wood lake cannot, and should not have to sustain the type of pressure this type of campground would cause. We purchased a cabin on Big Sand Lake outside Siren shortly before the campground was dismantled there in the early 2000’s. Having seen that lake both with, and without the campground... I can speak firsthand to the negative impact that a campground of this magnitude has on the pollution levels that lake, and the impact would be significantly worse on Big Wood due to the size of the lake and scope of the campground. Visitors of campgrounds such as this maintain zero pride of ownership or respect for neighbors and the environment that is otherwise standard on Big Wood. Campground visitors have no investment or respect for the long term beauty and usability of the lake. Allowing this project to continue would be devestating.

I do not want to see the current plan of development at the Bible Camp site on Big Wood Lake. I do not think the lake can withstand the impact the current plan would produce. I am opposed to the plan as it stands.

I was born and raised in Grantsburg. I still have many friends and family that reside or have cabins on this special lake. This would impact the entire culture this special lake offers. From residents to campers to wildlife. More than doubling the population on that lake in one area would be a very negative affect. Save the lake.

My parents, Bob and Karan Boddy owned the cabin for 25yrs weee always Association members now their kids own it and I thought we continued the membership. If we are not, please let us know
