Preserve Big Wood Lake

I believe that the former camp property has about 1200 feet of shoreline. If the minimum lake lot size is 150 feet, then the new owners should be able to have only 8 sites on the lake (8x150). Any permit should also limit the number of docks on the lake. After all, Big Wood Lake is not all that big.

Please do not let this property become a camp ground.

Based on the size of the proposed campground, there could be anywhere between 50-140 extra boats per day on the lake. Not to mention the extra docks needed for that many boats. All this on a 500 acre lake. The crappies and sunfish will disappear in a summer.

I've been going to Big Wood Lake since 1983. I grew up loving this lake and I would like my children to have similar experience. The lake already has enough fishermen that we are worried about the lake being over fished. We are also worried about the number of different people that will be using the lake and not caring for it. The lake simply is not large enough to entertain that many visitors at any given time.

This quiet, modest lake serves as resource and refuge for the families of the surrounding farms and towns. For many of us it holds our family history and many traditions......past, present and hopefully future. Please keep this lake untouched for my grandchildren. Jane Carlson Liska

Concerned about how increased water traffic would impact my favorite quiet and peaceful paddle bording hobby

I have been a visitor to Big Wood Lake over the years and oppose this development.

My great grandfather was a wicklund and had the 1st of 2 cabins on the lake which we enjoy to this day. Would be a shame to over populate it by commercializing the lake. Lots of damage can be done thru over fishing and septic waste.

Let’s keep rural Wisconsin rural. Wood Lake area is our summer home and love that we do not have to contend with the noise and traffic of the city. We love the quiet of the lake as it is ( though already noisier than it was in my youth).

Swimming, canoeing, kayaking...so many treasured childhood memories have been made in and on this peaceful lake. I believe the RV park would increase water traffic and put this all in jeopardy. Please keep this the special place it has always been for generations to come.

This is a special place that I feel could be endangered by the plans for an RV Park. I have fond memories of participating in quiet lake activities here in a beautiful, natural setting. It would be a shame to see that change.

I feel the addition of this park will increase the noise and 4 wheel traffic in the area which will significantly decrease the enjoyment of the area surrounding the lake and more.

I don't live directly on the lake but do enjoy all the lake has to offer in all seasons. I have opportunity to use the public access and feel the high numbers of for profit visitors will significantly affect this enjoyed resource

My Great Grandfather owned Hansen Point and built several houses on the point to include what we now know as the "family cabin". As long as I can remember our family would spend every week end and another 10 days vacation time enjoying the tranquility of this beautiful lake. My fondest memories from my childhood are those times spent at Wood Lake. When I first heard about this proposed RV park I really didn't think it would be approved. Much to my surprise it appears that the lake I spent most of my childhood at is now at risk! I simply cannot understand why is it so important to alter this property in ways that will destroy much of the wildlife habitat, increase traffic on the lake, increase pollution levels, drive property values down, etc..? The lake I first learned to fish on, learned to swim in and all those adventures my parents would create during our stays at the cabin will never be experienced by other kids. Please don't allow this to go through! Please preserve this lake that I love!

Big wood lake does not need this!!

I grew up on the lake and the thought of this RV park destroying the beauty and calmness of the lake breaks my heart. Don’t crowd Wood Lake

Our family enjoys the quiet peaceful and natural setting this lake provides. We have young children and are concerned how doubling the population on this lake would effect safety for swimming, kayaking, Paddle boarding, etc!

I have frequented the lake and enjoy the calmness and all lake activities it provides. It would be disappointing to see this be jeopardized with a RV site.
