Preserve Big Wood Lake

Development of an RV park would significantly hurt those who visit Big Wood Lake. It would create lots of noise (unlike the usual lake activities), it would cost more for emergency services, it would increase the population by a fair amount, and overall would not fit with the serenity and current residents of the area.

My daughter lives on Big Wood Lake. This would be a shame to ruin this lake. No RV park on what was previously the bible camp property.

An RV park would negatively impact Big Wood Lake as well as the surrounding area. I grew up in Grantsburg and am sick at the thought of a for-profit RV park damaging this pristine lake. We have been looking to purchase property on this lake, but are waiting to see the results of this petition. An RV park would undoubtedly be a reason for us to expand our search. I have spent significant time on a lake that had a an RV park and the negative impact was real- and folks complained about it constantly. This is not a good thing for Big Wood Lake.

I basically grew up on the lake with my grandparents when they lived there. I still go to this lake almost every weekend in the summer. Big wood lake is already crowded in the summer with wakeboard boats, sea-doos, ect. I do believe even with the current traffic it is well maintained and clean "for the most part"(that's a whole different topic). With an RV park this lake would be ruined. Even if half the people with RVs on the lake had boats that would be 40 more boats permanently on big wood lake for the summer. Would be a disgrace to ruin this lake.

Very concerned about the additional heavy vehicle (RV's and 5th wheel/truck) traffic on County Rd. Y and the negative effect the heavy population increase will have on the lake and surrounding environment.

I am a frequent visitor.

It concerns me that this would 'flood' the lake with activity and potentially introduce users that aren't invested in protecting the lake in the same way that owners are.

I fished Big & Little Wood for many years when my in-laws had a cabin nearby. Beautiful lakes, would be a shame to see a development like this go in and add all the increased pressure and traffic to Big Wood Lake.

I am opposed to a commercial enterprise of this size on wood lake

Please maintain the pristine quality of the lake. What a shame it would be to allow this lake to loose these qualities.

We love our Big Wood Lake and surrounding area. Do not allow permitting for the rv/campground until studies are done to ensure the environmental health and beauty of the area

Do not allow permitting for the rv/campground. In order to protect the health and beauty of big wood lake studies must be done to make sure the lake and surrounding area are protected

We visit our daughter's family on Wood Lake. Appreciate the blend of lake activity AND quiet times. The loons, the eagles, the fishing and on and on. Would HATE to see that ruined with LOTS of power boats coming in for the weekends (and more). Feel.that the transient population would not appreciate the overall benefits of Lake Wood living.

I am very concerned about the impact of hundreds of people and the water crafts that they bring with them.

It sounds as if the lake is already struggling to sustain life. Allowing a large numbers of campers a new unsupervised access to the lake would almost certainly bring with it a whole new set of invasive species potentially ruining yet another lake. The people currently surrounding the lake seem to have invested in having this lake checked yearly to help make improvements which will all potentially go for not if this RV park is allowed to ruin it.

I have concerns for the community.

I just appreciate this lake for its beauty and serenity

My family owned two cabin properties directly across from the Bible camp during the 70’s & 80’s.
