Arundel is a beautiful historic town, needing a younger demographic ,there is already too much retirement housing which is often vacant ,this also means that there is not enough housing stock for first home buyers /families available. Please build affordable housing for these people ,they are the future.

Over development of this site with unsuitable property - what Arundel really needs is affordable, reasonable sized housing for residents and their relatives - all ages! Let's stop putting retired people in these 'prison like' structures and integrate them with all age groups.

Does not comply with local plan and Arundel does not need anymore of this type of development

Totally out of scale for the location. The building and servicing of this development will create major traffic problems, looking at the amount of service vehicles, removal and delivery vehicles, Ambulances etc, all stopping on the road?

There are enough retirement flats in Arundel already. The focus should be on providing affordable homes for younger people and families who are currently priced out of the area.

Think the existing building should be used and developed to its potential. We need to keep historic buildings of Arundel to teach other generations the history of such a beautiful place. It would be such a shame to knock it down for even more retirement homes which there are plenty of. Where are all the family homes???

Enough is enough, the age demographic of the town is hugely leant towards our elder residents and we need to encourage younger people to stay and raise families!

The proposed scheme is a wholesale overdevelopment irrespective of the intended occupants. Whilst I would welcome seeing the site used in a productive way, the current proposed density is just too much. Without being self sufficient with parking this will create additional pressure on surrounding streets.

We need more affordable well planned housing before Arundel turns into a ghost town

I strongly object for all the reasons stated & in particular because of the risk of building too many units on an established flood plain & the strain on already oversubscribed doctors' surgery.

We have enough sheltered housing & always at least 6 for sale. Too much pressure on already overloaded GP surgery & chemist. Please keep Victorian buildings. My only Lounge window will be overlooked by at least 3 flats - 40 feet away. Very busy road with large delivery trucks - hazardous for elderly people.

I was born in this town as was my mother and Grandmother.
I have no wish to preserve the town in aspic as it is a living, breathing and working economy.
However, I would like to see less expensive homes and retirement apartments and more homes that local people can afford.
This can be done. If land is offered to a Housing Association at a low price then affordable properties can be built for rent.
People born in the town often have to move away when they are older as they can no longer afford to live here.
Regarding the old Blastreat building that the proposeddevelopers of the retirement homes plan to demolish. This is a late Victorian structure and one of the last remaining parts of the old Swallow Brewery that once fronted a large part of Queen Street until the mid 1930's (roughly where the Co op is now)
This building could easily be preserved and converted rather than destroyed.
The Arundel Neighbourhood plan that residents voted on highlights the area for the proposed apartments for houses and affordable homes as well as suggesting the the Blastreat building could be converted.
If this retirement complex for 60 year olds+ goes ahead, the Neighbourhood Plan will be worth less than the paper it is written on.
Object to ADC about this planning application now!

Please no more housing for the elderly. Young people are being driven away by high property prices. More affordable housing urgently needed

the impact of neighbours; the impact on the view and it will drain resources that are not been planned when the street was built.

This is just so wrong. Arundel is precious. There are so many more suitable areas.
