I share all the principal objections against this proposed development. Arundel is one of the oldest and historic towns in the county and should not be blighted by this form of development.

What is needed in Arundel is affordable houses for youngsters not more retirement flats that the people if Arundel cannot afford.

Please listen to the people of Arundel who are watching the beauty of this historic town slowly disappear.

I do not support the need for any more retirement flats/apartments in Arundel! Arundel will become a ghost town if there is no support to house young families, and only housing the elderly. There are already sufficient flats/apartments in Arundel for the elderly, some of which haven't been sold and stand empty!

Who is responsible for giving permission to allow them to build this? This development must be stopped!

All very valid comments, in my position on the Arundel flood committee I can only endorse the concerns regarding the stress on our overloaded drainage system.

What a rediculous concept. The retirement homes in Arundel way exceed the need to fill them, people have been trying to sell the already existing retirement flats for years and failing. Arundel will not remain what it is with development plans like these going ahead. It needs to reamin small, quaint and historic that is what the businesses and trade rely on. Just don't be stupid.

No more old people's homes, still unsold ones in Arundel, stop making Arundel youngsters move away, affordable homes required

Arundel is unusual in having so much life, different ages living here and a vibrant art and music scene. It makes it a very appealing place to live and is in part why I moved here.
I've seen the culture and community of a similar town die because of the loss of its younger generations.
I think it is absolutely imperative that they opt for the more logical option of tasteful cottages build in a style that enhances or matches the local history, (including some affordable housing) to maintain the character and atmosphere of the town.
Additionally, I happen to live on Fitzalan Road and do not want my service risked or street crowded.

My daughter is a Mullet yet we sadly had to move out of the town as we couldn't afford to rent/buy there when my marriage broke down. Arundel needs more affordable options for local families.

Arundel needs more affordable housing, it certainly does not need more retirement properties. The younger demographic are being pushed out into neighbouring towns that DO have affordable housing. Fill the empty retirement properties and NO MORE.
