This plan is preposterous and should not be permitted.

This development would be most unsuitable for so many reasons, unsightly, overwhelming, gloomy. Also we need affordable housing for younger families. There is plenty of provision for elderly people in the town. Also I do not like the fact the old frontage of Swallow Brewery will not be retained. Those are some of my reasons against the development.

Arundel has enough housing for old people. We need housing for young people to keep Arundel alive and vibrant. Building on a flood plain is high risk and in any case not sensible. Arundel is already short of parking spaces and more cars would further ruin Arundel. There are many more reasons why this development should not proceed, too many to list here. There is not one single positive with this development. This proposed development is as outrageous as it is ill thought out and should not in any circumstances be allowed to proceed.

This development is badly thought out. I am writing separately to Arun District Council

Not the right development for Arundel. Already overloaded with retirement homes, more need for affordable housing for young families.

This proposed development is unacceptable for all the reasons listed. It should be for affordable homes and with due consideration of the already difficult parking issues

There are already empty flats in the existing establishments, it would be ludicrous. Allowing younger people to stay in arundel is vital for the future of the businesses, schools etc. Building blocks and destroying the skyline will impact on the beauty of Arundel, which is a contributory factor in visitors coming and feeding our businesses. And its fair to say, parking is already a huge problem in arundel, as a resident all my life, and now residing in surrey street, i struggle on a daily basis to get anywhere my home. This must not be allowed.

The scheme for Renaissance Retirement, I believe, is not in the best interest of the future development of Arundel.

I strongly object to presented plans to build the complex of 49 flats. The height, size and positioning are totally unacceptable from every standpoint.

As architect for the recent redevelopment of the 'Bevin & Bevin' site I understand the importance of retaining existing buildings and respecting the historic townscape. This application does neither and should not be allowed.

To permit this development would be crazy:- 1. Too many cars. 2. Too many retirement homes. 3. Too much like John Prescott - who wanted to build on the flood plain. 4. Too much greed

Retirement properties not needed. High rise would dominate area. Access to site would cause disruption to a very narrow street. Not in keeping with the general ambience of Arundel.

The plan submitted is clearly detrimental to Arundel on almost all levels. Please reject this proposed development and build the 24 units instead

Against the proposed application for the reasons given above

The town needs affordable homes, not another retirement block, especially as there are still many unsold homes in Caen Stone Court. Just yards away...

Too many flats, badly impacts neighbours's views and privacy,37 cars for 49 flats is awful. Should be 1.5 spaces per flat. Badly landscaped. 24 cottages with garages plus one parking place each is preferable.

The type of flat planned - retirement homes, luxury or otherwise - is not what the community needs. We need to provide affordable housing for those on the first rung of the housing ladder. The Renaissance Retirement complex does not offer that and should be squashed.

The scheme will have a major detrimental impact on the views from the north side of the river & the overbearing nature for residents of the south side.
