Good luck with the campaign, Adrian. This sounds very poorly thought through!

Affordable housing to attract young families rather than more retirement housing. Please try to preserve the Victorian building.

The proposals demonstrate inadequate analysis of the site and its context; damaging impacts on the urban environment and views, owed to inappropriate scale and massing; unnecessary exacerbation of past mistakes on Fitzalan Road; a thoughtless and generic approach to materials, detailing and composition in architectural design. This is a DISGRACE.

Please do not allow this to get approved. A smaller complex with cottages would suit the area much better. Agree with other comments we need accommodation for younger residents we already have a sufficient stock of retirement properties in the area.

Stupid idea, not in keeping with this beautiful town. Plus we don't need any more retirement flats. Cottage style in keeping affordable housing if anything.

I know so many 30 something's still at home as they cant afford to move out, it's disgusting the way land is being bought up and made into yet again more age controlled apartments, its ageism and ludicrous there are still loads available at caen stone thats not sold. Then we have the resources you want to bring in 49 homes so potentially 98 pensioners, it already takes 3 weeks to get a Doctors appointment.

Why build more retirement flats when there are vacant flats in the retirement properties already in Arundel.

Arundel is an enchantment of grace and perfection with its wide river dominated by the castle and the cathedral . Planning to built a 4 storey building ,highly visible and ostructing important viws ,is a pollution project of esthetism ! That's why I will sign this petition

I agree entirely with your statements, the population voted for the Neighbourhood Plan, this application goes against all those principles and the people who voted for them.

Not sure why this page has me listed in 'Kidbrooke' as i live in Warningcamp, just outside of Arundel! - 'Sara RatcliffeUnited Kingdom, Kidbrooke', however....
I stand by my earlier comment that Arundel does not require more retirement homes, there are already many empty retirement properties for sale, what is more important right now is that we focus on a sustainable future for Arundel, young people work....hard, I might add, if there are houses available for them to BUY they will continue to work hard to pay their mortgage and bring money to the local economy.
We can not continue down this road, we must provide affordable houses in some way or form for people to live in and NOT churn out another unforgiving development such as the one proposed.

The proposed development is not appropriate in Arundel as it is not in keeping with the local surroundings, will dominate the skyline and as many people say, we really don't need any more housing for retired people. I do hope that this will be reconsidered.

why destroy a perfectly beautiful building and put a 4 floor modern one spoiling the view. It is nonsense. Make some flats out of the building and leave it at that.

I would like to object to the 'Renaissance Retirement' plans on the grounds that Arundel does not need any more retirement or age-restricted properties. There are already too many of these complexes, some of which have empty flats/vacancies. I believe this site should be developed to create a smaller number of 2 storey houses with gardens, suitable for younger families. A percentage should be affordable housing for local people and first time buyers, and also affordable rented properties for younger people. Arundel is a wonderful place to bring up a family but too many younger people have been priced out of the market by wealthy people snapping up the houses as second homes.
