Preserve a Historic San Diego Site: North Chapel at Liberty Station NTC

My husband is a retired Navy Captain. We feel strongly that the North Chapel should be preserved and maintained as a historical building. It should be available to the public for weddings and memorial services. San Diego needs to treasure its history, not destroy it for more entertainment venues.

I am a choir teacher in the Point Loma area. I would love to be able to utilize this space for public school and community events, as it was purposed for.

This is a sacred place of worship. Have mercy.

Save the Chapel

There are plenty of restaurants in San Diego. Ruining this treasure to give us yet another is criminal. The navy and the people who served are integral to this city. Don't insult the legacy.

Save the historical integrity of this landmark.

Interesting to find out which council members stand up for this landmark. Liberty Station is another example of a City Treasure thrown away. How do former mayors and council members live with themselves?

My wife and I were married in the chapel in 1972. Both her father and grandfather worshipped there as naval aviators during WWII. This should NEVER be allowed to house a commercial enterprise.

Save this history.

I would not trust McMilliin any further then I could throw them.

Why not just turn it into a casino while you’re at it?....bet on God, whatever god...some places should remain sacred to the holy , beyond consumer greed

Keep historical buildings as they were intended to use especially used by the military for funeral services, chapel services, weddings and baptisms. Let’s keep San Diego Historical sites in palce and not for other uses like restaurants or concert venues...

Please preserve this Chapel. Another restaurant or retail store is not needed.

Agree for the preservation for the chapel. I have only been there once, in 1974 for the funeral of a high school friend whose father was enlisted Navy. It would be a shame to lose this historic chapel.

I would like to see the North Chapel remain as it is.

We urge you to keep our Historical North Chapel at Liberty Station NTC. Please keep the Chapel a Chapel and preserve's it for the use of the public and community of Point Loma.

Please save the chapel. RTC/NTC was my start of my Naval career almost 30 years ago. Please save this chapel. The history of this building, the many many sailors & families that have walked through that historical building.

SAVE A PIECE OF HISTORY!!!

There are any number of suitable places for a restaurant. There is only one chapel, which should remain a chapel as it was outlined in the transfer documents. McMillian signed the leases. They are very clear and specific about the buildings use. Live up to your bargain McMillian!! It’s that simple.
