Preserve a Historic San Diego Site: North Chapel at Liberty Station NTC

It MUST be saved as-is.

I did my recruit training at RTC San Diego, and was assigned to SSC San Diego as both a student and staff member. It would be a crying shame to convert the chapel to a restaurant, all for the purpose of making a little money. The chapel should be available for worship services and weddings for military members at no cost!

There is little enough of San Diego's history still standing. This building is and has been being used for the purpose for which it was built. WE do NOT need another restaurant!

My father's last tour of duty with the Navy was in San Diego where he trained the new recruits at NTC. Please leave the North Chapel as a historic memory!

Save the church- I remember going to mass there back in the 80s- Such a beautiful little church!!

How outrageous! How disrespectful of the historical significance of this beautiful, beloved chapel! I have sung several concerts there with Peninsula Singers and attended many events and performances, ever mindful of the rich memories the chapel holds for the military personnel who served at NTC and for members of the local San Diego community. Please don't allow this lovely sacred place to be taken away from us. Stop this desecration!

My wife and I were married there 35 years ago when I was in the Marines. We renewed our vows there 5 years ago, and plan to do so in 2023.

PLEASE save the North Chapel. It is an iconic and historic building. They have cut up enough of Liberty Station. The Chapel should stand as a reminder of it's original uses for soldiers going off to wars where they could worship.

I spent 1975 to 1976 going to church there every Sunday then in 1985 I went to boot camp there and went to church there every Sunday. I was stationed in San Diego many years after that going to Sunday mass there. Save the chapel. The Sailors church.

Corey McMillan co is suppose to "caretake" the historic buildings, NOT developer them. It would be a violation of the conditions that were agreed to when they acquired the former NTC!

This is a historical church for this community. It is beautiful and brings happiness....we DO NOT need another generic restaurant!!! Please don’t destroy this lovely part of the area.

It's a beautiful space for concerts just as it is. Acoustics are amazing.

Please keep “ another” restaurant from this historic church. McMillin Company isn’t it enough now?

Attended RTC Boot Camp Nov 80-Jan 81. Attended both Chapels several times. Would be a shame for it to go away.
