As a father of a 4 year attending ITBP, please reconsider the timing of Tent City. Many members of my family have dedicated their lives to the Salvation Army and I understand the need to give people a chance. But I have also seen the other side and to place 2-5 year old children in this situation is reckless. Please consider the summer when school is out to do this. In the meantime, I'll be praying for you.

I am uncomfortable with Tent City moving in so close to the children.I'm unwilling to allow my son at an increased risk level. We will have to find him another place to learn if you go forward with this decision.

I don't think hosting a tent city near any school is wise.

It is my hope that we can come together as a faith community and find a solution that helps those in need while also balancing the duty we ALL have as adults to provide as safe of an environment as we can to any child we parent and/or are entrusted to protect. Unfortunately, we cannot ignore that there have been incidents that are cause for concern as it relates to being in close proximity of young, innocent, and defenseless children (eg, child rapist, methamphetamine possession). My hope is that the church leadership will listen with an open heart to concerns, consider all solutions and alternatives, and keep safeguarding our children at the forefront of discussions, while preserving the sanctity of this preschool’s loving essence.

I am happy to be flexible with our school schedule in order for TC4 to be there during the summer. Just not in support while our children are there 4 days a week. Totally against exposing my children to this.

Today, the Pastor stood in front of us saying that the children's safety is top priority. However, allowing TC4 while ITBP is in session is NOT putting the welfare and safety of the children as top priority!! Please, do not host TC4 while the VERY young children are in session. 2-5 year olds do not need to be exposed to this in order to be good people or good Christians.

I don't think this is appropriately located while there is a pre-school in session.

In light of events (drug arrests and an an arrest involving child rape), I implore you to look at alternative dates. Helping should never come before the safety of any children. There is no doubt in my mind that this effort has no business being anywhere near a playground. There is no "reasonable amount of safety" that could make me feel at ease. In my opinion, given events that have already taken place, it is "if" it's "when" something occurs. And only then will people realize this has no place around children.
