Admin field=Exclusive to Powhatan Lacrosse, Lower Jr High School Field=2 days per week, Pocahontas Elementary School week days 5:30 to 8:30p.m. and use of the Dog Pound Field=3days per week
Mini Tournament on Saturday, April 25 Jr High Practice Field next to the Stadium, not the Stadium field.
With only three fields for practice and game play and with only one field with lights (Admin Field). This will cause an increase in away games for the U-9 to Varsity teams as compared to the past years. Therefore, it will be more difficult for Powhatan families to get to the games. Homework time for student athletes and travel cost will be negatively impacted.
Please find the time to sign this petition and pass it on until everyone in Powhatan has signed it. So that the voice of youth sports in Powhatan will be heard.
Powhatan Lacrosse is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing the youth of Powhatan County, Virginia with the opportunity to learn and enjoy the great game of lacrosse. Powhatan Lacrosse offers a variety of programs for boys and girls of all skill levels.
Our mission is to teach young people the game of lacrosse by emphasizing sound fundamentals as well as higher level skills and concepts in an environment that promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, and above all, fun while preparing for the next chapter in their life!

The level of engagement regarding our field availability is heartening to observe. This response confirms that our community values the time and effort our student athletes dedicate to this sport.

So excited that lacrosse is growing in Powhatan- showing our support for equal access to facilities.
As a tax payer and company owner in the county i find it sad that the county chooses to set the fields aside for other sports. My tax dollars need to support all sports in the county, espically the one my son plays, lacrosse.
This sport is the fastest growing sport in the US and the state of Virginia boast one of the most decorated programs at the University of Virginia. We need the county to back our children and give them a place to practice.
kids need and have a right to practice on real fields. Football and baseball are NOT the only sports out there!!!
All other youth sports in the county are taken care of, by giving practice and game fields. Why is lacrosse being treated differently. As a tax payer, I expect my kids to get the same treatment as a child who plays soccer in this county.
