I sent a 12th of May postcard to Karina Hansen in Denmark

There are documented cases of people dying due to enforced psychiatric treatment and diagnoses, imprisoned against their will. Sophia Mirza in the UK is one of the best examples who died as a direct consequence of her treatment. I pray that her captors be enlightened as soon as possible so that they will do the only right thing and free Karina.

I've just seen this , Karina still remain's against her own will in Hammel Neurocenter... Today it's 17/7- 2014.. Help Karina ..

Holding this woman against her will, when she does not have a psychiatric illness is a complete breach of her Human Rights. She must be released immediately.

She can decide for herself. She is not mentally ill but if she stays there will become mentally ill. and no one can take care of her like her mother did.

This young woman is a victim of a morally corrupt campaign on her personal freedoms. She must be allowed to go home to her family to be loved and nurtured immediately.

Release Karina! ME is a physical illness and what you're doing to her for the sake of her mental health is actually worsening her mental health and is not much different than a kidnapping and hostage situation. You should be ashamed!

ME is not a psychological illness, it is classed by WHO as neurological. Karina will however suffer psychological damage from her incarceration and the physical torture she is being made to endure. This is cruel and inhumane treatment of a very ill young woman.

This is terrible beyond belief.

I had Fibromyalgia/CFS for 4 years. It presented itself after Pernicious Anaemia. My first doctor took 6 months to diagnose me after doing the Tender Point Test and wanted to treat it with Amitriptyline - which I refused. I wanted to treat the cause, not the symptoms. I researched it myself.I had a friend doing a course in medicine and human biology so I read books, eventhough I could hardly hold them and my brain was so foggy. But I barely slept from the pain, and my fighting spirit kept me going. I realised that this disorder is to mitochondrial failure which I treated with high doses of co-enzymes, b vitamins and magnesium, amongst other things and a very specific diet rich in minerals and vitamins to repair the mitochondria. It too me 6 years to fully recover. M.E is a biological and chemical disease, not a psychiatric disorder - sufferers know this. It is time that the medical profession used some intelligence. Denmark should be ashamed of itself for this totally fascist and illogical behaviour towards this defenceless girl. A clear breach of her Human Rights to remain in the care of her parents.

It is disgraceful, in a country that considers itself progressive, that a woman can be forcibly removed from her home without any proper explanation and subjected to medical treatment that is likely to be making her condition worse. This without proper oversight or accountability.

I have sent a postcard to Karina and Ketty, saying that I had a relative with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Some days they could do things, some days they just lay on the sofa, too tired to do anything, even to watch TV. I think it helped that they decided what to do. The doctor recommended cranial osteopathy to reduce the headaches, and this gave them more energy. After 2 years, they got better, and they are now fine. I wish a better future for Karina and Ketty.

Hello Karina and parents, I hope from the bottom of my heart that with the help of many others you will be "released" from this neurocenter and can go home. I myself have CFS now for 8 years and I am very much better now, even so that my energylevel is almost normal. The pains are sometimes still very bad. But I could only come this far after these years by resting and having not too much input from outside. So I hope that you can also come this far as me. I hope so for every CFS/ME patiënt. Ans also that we wil be regarded as a physically sick person and not mental sick! I send you all my love! Kirsten.

ME/cfs in the measure Karina suffers from is hell on earth already. how on earth has it been possible that she's beging forced to undergo treatments that even worsen her terrible condition, bafflws my mind and those of many with me

We fellow ME- sufferers, have to stand up for each other when we are too ill to fight for ourselves. What is happening to Karina is barbaric and inhumane, and it is even more shocking to realise this is happening in a European country in 2014. Denmark should hang its head in shame.

Please please release Karina and let her family and specialists in ME see her and treat her. I also have ME but am 100% better although not working. ME is real. I have had it for 8 years having me normal and healthy. There is nothing that is not real about this grim illness. Sally

This is appalling. Karina is not only not a harm to herself or anyone else, but she is of age and should be able to check herself out of any facility. She is ill with a very REAL DISEASE that does not originate in her head. It's time for the government and doctors who think they know best to get OUT OF THE WAY of patient rights and parental rights. Doctors, how would you feel if this was your daughter? I suspect you would not have permitted her to be locked up like a common criminal, just for having an illness that is not well understood by some.

Its not right to lock up a person who isn't a criminal and isn't a danger to herself or others. And its especially cruel to keep her family from visiting. Even if could be proven that her illness is purely psychological, she has the right to make decisions about her own health care

I feel that people with any type of mental breakdown need help and should not be condemned. They need to be stabilised and not shut up for life
