M.E. is a real illness, and even if it wasn't, taking a girl from her family is wrong and cruel and against her human rights.
She must be returned to her family, the cruelty acknowledged, and regretted, and Denmark must accept that M.E. is an illness recognised by the United Nations.

The correct diagnosis and treatment of this lady must be given. I have M.E. myself and have had a hard road obtaining the correct diagnosis and treatment. It is a terrible illness but can be managed to lessen the symptoms and effects but it has to be done correctly. Please help this lady and her family. It is not her fault that she is ill. She needs the correct help which consists of stress management, hormone therapy if necessary, pacing, and good diet - especially regular carbohydrates of course along with good nutrition like fresh vegetables and proteins. Look to the World Health Organisation for guidance.

This is outrageous. The state needs to acknowledge the right of Karina to personal autonomy.

I am petitioning the Hammel Neurocenter, Denmark, to release Karina Hansen. I am an RN (trained at Vor Frue Sykepleieskole, Oslo) and also have ME. My own treatment for it consists in strict anti-yeast diet, stress management, hormone replacement therapy, and pacing myself. You are way off-base in your treatment protocols. Do some research and release Karina. I refer you to Dr. Jacob Teitelbaum, the ME expert who set me on the right track.
