Portobello is definitely lacking in things for older children and teenagers to do. A skate park would be a great way to encourage outdoor play and exercise for this age group

With the closure of Bristo square and the space this past weekend it is clear that scottish skateboarding is slowly begining to be killed off. Skating around Edinburgh can be rough whether it's due to being kicked out by security/police or just being hassled by the locals. It's clear to all skateboarders that a new park is needed. it'll also give people a push towards doing a healthy outdoor sport such as skateboarding.

There should be a skate park in portobello cause all the other skate parks are ages away and it would be good for the younger people as well
