This is one of the best unspoilt areas in the area enjoyed by residents and visitors for many generations. It has provided many wonderful memories and should continue to do so. I, for one, do not want to see it turned into a rubbish tip in the name of "Development". The people that live here don't want it, listen to the people keep it as it is and say No to the development.

It is vital to maintain year-round access to the coast here, to protect the coast path and also provide alternative access when the coast path cannot be used. Also, this stretch of the coast line is highly visible, and the aesthetics of the land must be preserved.

I would like to know who will pay for the damage caused to Nore Road by heavy lorries accessing the site, what disruption will be caused in this area and in gaining access from the motorway (Nore Road is already difficult to access with St Joseph’s site development), how will I still be able to continue walking on this site (supposedly open to public use), who is responsible for public liability if someone is injured by a golf ball, particularly as a full, wayward golf swing would bring the main road into play, the raising of the level of the site will also presumably cut light to the coastal path and make it even muddier than usual and possibly impassable. Cllr Pasley states that there is a £5,000 annual fee paid to the council, I would like to know how much will the leaseholder receive to use this historic golf course as landfill? Does a course designed by Harry Vardon not have some protected status?

A number of objections. Firstly, Disply of a sign for the proposed development was not placed where the general public access the Golf Course by the car park by Beech Road East, thereby denying the majority of the public notice to object. Secondly, the sewer lines runs along the 'rough ground' parallel with the public footpath. No geological survey has been carried out. There is a Badger set by the footpath with a run leading up to the Pines. Lastly, a 10 foot bund by the footpath would be most objectionable and would change the aspect of the Golf Course forever.

I can't believe how councillors keep this things quiet from the public knowing there would be an outcry! We should treasure our open green spaces. NO MORE building in Portishead. Once its gone its gone.
I am appalled that North Somerset Council would even consider allowing a landfill operation at this lovely green space. I intend to tell all my friends and urge them to sign this petition.

Thus is outrageous and yet another plan by our council to sell,off our wonderful coastal assets without full public consultation. It was the same with the open air pool a few years ago. Our coastline is very unique and surely they're getting g enough I. Rages from all the land they've sold for multiple housing projects in Portishead to keep something so,special and that is used by us all
