I cannot believe that a Council who is constantly promoting tourism across North Somerset can even think about doing this. I walk in this area and have been doing so over 25 years. I will stand outside with my placard if the present concessionaire even thinks about stopping me walking in this beautiful part of Portishead.

I totally disagree with these plans. I am disgusted with North Somerset Council for even considering changes to the magnificent views from both Nore Road and the, much used, coastal path.

Glad this has come into the open as a load of landfill could lead to the loss of this green patch for ever.

I recently heard that other golf courses have run into trouble doing the same thing. The professional staff at NSC should have been aware.

Care must be given to protect established public access and to incorporate sensible measures to maintain the much-valued

It beggars belief that North Somerset Council would allow the present tenant of Portishead Golf Course to BAN all walkers. Many, many people, local and tourists alike have used this beautiful green space for a considerable time, over 40 years. The worst aspect of this whole fiasco is that NO public consultation has been allowed. Councilor David Pasley wrote a letter to North Somerset Times publication on 1st April (April fools day!! ) and tried to convince every one that this has been a transparent and open deliberation, it hasn't and more importantly, we are not fooled Mr Pasley.

All those interested in objecting to the proposed tipping site on the Golf Course might like to attend the Portishead Town Councils meeting at 7.30 on 8th April, 2015. If you wish to object please register with the Clerk as you go in.

First I've heard about it and I try to keep up with local issues, it certainly hasn't been well publicised by the local council nor have I seen any evidence of consultation!

Jenny, well said. I am so pleased people are becoming aware of this planning application and the huge potential impact that it will have on residents and tourists alike.

Cllr Pasley has been far from transparent over this matter, par for the course (excuse the pun). people should be asking why a lease was sold on after only one year of a 25 year term to a company that specialises in landfill. Cllr Pasley should have been protecting the rights of way when the lease was signed and encouraging public participation. I hope that people remember the acts of certain councillors at the coming election as something is very suspicious about the whole manner the golf course lease procedure has been handled,

Unfortunately, I only became aware of this application last week and I was only told about this petition today! Not many people know about this planning proposal or it's implications. Many thanks to the two ladies who I met on the Golf Course who were bringing this to the attention of the public.

I live on drakes way and its the first I've heard of this. I don't believe the residents living opposite have been fully informed of the impact this will have or of the increase of traffic, noise, dust etc. The golf course is a beautiful space and I've enjoyed it all my life on a daily basis, please don't let this happen. I believe this is a pretext ultimately to building houses there.
