I spent my childhood walking along the cliff path. This should never be closed off.

Leave it as it is! The council is building a reputation for providing land to dodgy developers. Enough is enough. I wouldn't trust Pasley as far as I could roll him up the hill.

The idea that the golf course needs to be surrounded by a 4m mound of subsoil and hardcore to "protect the public" is utterly fatuous. Almost every golf course I know is crisscrossed by public rights of way with no need for such nonsense. The leaseholders at Portishead GC have done nothing but erect ugly and useless barriers to try to keep people off the course, and mow it to oblivion. I've yet to see anyone playing golf on it.

I am concerned that the proposal changes this area dramatically. It has been used by locals and visitors daily for as long as I have lived in Portishead. Many of the fields and open spaces that I played on as a child have been built over by developers. This area should be protected so that the we still have some open space for people to freely use for their leisure.

Another case if councillors trying to pull the wool over the eyes of the people that they are supposed to be looking after. Ludicrous

Sad but it doesn't surprise me, council seems to be either inept or corrupt- this is just another example.

I.walk my.dog here every day and is one of the main reasons why I choose to move from Bristol to Portishead. Poor decisions like these make people think twice about moving here. They should be thinking about the long term consequences this could have.

There is something very underhand going on when elected officials are involved in transactions and deals which clearly adversely affect the community whom they claim to represent. It's outrageous that the few should benefit at the expense of the money. We are borrowing this beautiful lace from our children and grandchildren. Let's not allow those who have sought power to act dishonourably, because that is what this is looking like.
