This is a disgrace - is there a list of those who have walked the path for more than 20 years

How can you have this next to a place that sells good food would ruin the windmill

This needs to happen

Kept far too quiet, no public consultation, why? And that stretch of coast line needs to be preserved for all people not altered and with no plans for the future should the Limited Company suffer financial loss and in so doing be able to walk away with no consequences

Was anyone around when the other nine holes were sold off by Bristol City Corporation in 1964? What objections were raised then?

I have been using the shore path regularly since 1980 and am concerned that the suggested changes would be totally detrimental to the interests of those using this outstanding facility.

We often come to Portishead from Bristol as it is a beautiful area and my children really enjoy it. Next thing they will be charging for parking around the area and trying to squeeze every penny out of us. This petition is very important to a friend of our family as they use the area to walk their dogs so I really hope this petition is heard and action taken.

why can't there be a scheme that allows for walkers/dog walkers to circumnavigate the golf course as with some others I know of??

I fully support the initiative in obtaining Town and Village Green status and have personally used this area, as did my parents before me, as public open space. Any infringement on this liberty has to be viewed with the upmost suspicion and due process must be seen to be done to prevent legal challenge. Tipping on this land would seem wholly inappropriate given, transport links and access, its gradient and close proximity to the public footpath and coastline on the sites lower reaches. It would also be detrimental in landscape terms to what currently represents a substantial area of public open space and green field resource. One should guard against the possibilities of top soil removal pre tipping, hazards of spillage on access routes and footpaths, ensuring restrictions and monitoring on material tipped (should it get that far). Tipping on this land should only take place as part of North Somerset District Council’s waste plan, therefore to tip on this land should require a change of use which of course would attract the normal tax levied for said tipping.

why should this be allowed! It's crazy.

David Pasley was supposed to be the ward councillor for the golf course land but has let Portishead residents down. Reading the local North Somerset Times, it is clear that without the public's involvement in this matter, this man Pasley would be none the wiser. Either that, or he did know but kept it from the residents he is supposed to represent for reasons he is keeping to himself. Always worries me when developers are involved in some way, albeit it only a golf course re-design.

Save the Golf Course...

it has always been a golf course as long as i know so it should stay as it is

a space for the many not for the few

its vital for locals and dog walkers. I even come over from clevedon to walk the dogs there

I enjoy this green space and I think it should stay as one.

This MUST be kept `green` for the people of Portishead and future generations.
