I am appalled at the decisions made by our council over the issue of the golf course area. It is vital that the course area is protected for all the people of Portishead for all time.

simply should never happen. the area is a treasure of the town and is one of the reasons people love it there.

Who ever voted to approve this planning application neds to carefully considr their position. The application was clarly NOT afforded the scrutiny it clearly needed. How this " venture" can make any money when golf membership is falling is baffling. I wonder if there is a hidden agenda??

This area is used regularly by local residents and I have been using it for 23 years since I moved to Portishead. It was one of the reasons I moved to Portishead. Keep it as it is, no need to change it.

This is a disgrace, I've grown up in Portishead as are my children, I learnt to play golf on the approach course and my girls, our dog and I walk this daily! Its a beautiful walk and I go out of my way on the way home when walking to walk along it. There is no need to change the landscape for golfing reasons or any other.

We frequently lunch at the Windmill and having to sit by the side of 40 tonne lorries tipping whilst we eat is not acceptable.

Seems like yet another plan to get the developers in!! It's a lovely part of Portishead which should most definitely be retained for everybody's pleasure as a beautiful coastal walk.

Not sure what if any business plan there is for using this land for golf, not many seem to now. Very suspicious that there may be a long term alteria motive. It's a beautiful piece of land that I think should be used for the benefit of all.

This sounds like an absurd but money-grubbing proposition. There are gold courses all around here, & no-one is ever going to make money from a 9-holer on the side of a steep hill. Obviously it is a scheme by which the company makes its profit by being paid to dump unwanted earth OR by suing the council for non-fulfillment of contract if it now decides the scheme will not go ahead. I wonder which planning officers and local councillors tthought this was a good idea. Please let's start saving the planet!

I grew up in Portishead and the golf course is a wonderful area of the town for many reasons. the view and area in turn would be spoiled. A place of family fun and friendship.
