Port Townsend School Board- please reject Holley Carlson's resignation!

Good morning- It's me, Holley. First of all, I want to say thank you to everyone for the unexpected outpouring of support you've offered me and my family this past week. Thank you. Although I appreciate it, I wanted to speak out to let you know that although it would've been my preference to complete my term and continue the work I was elected to do, in lieu of other choices, I made the decision to resign. I believe the relationship is broken, irreparably so, therefore the work cannot continue without interruption or distraction. As hard as it may be for all of us, I ask you to bless and release me. By honoring my decision, the work can continue. In addition, I ask you to get behind the board and also the new appointment. Their work is tireless, thankless (often) and at times even undesirable. Yet the work is important. We are all counting on them. They are the heart and soul of public education governance, outstanding volunteers and champions for public education. It was an honor to serve with them. It was an honor to serve all of you. My work is not finished! My passion and commitment to the schools and the kids does not waver. You haven't seen the last of me, that I can guarantee. I am so sorry if in any way I let you down. I never intended for any of this to happen. I only hope that as a community we can all learn and grow from this experience. I know I have. Humbly yours- Holley

She is such a strong community asset. And it was an honest mistake that she has owned up to. Please keep her on the board.

I have known Holley for many years. To accept her resignation is wrong. There is no question she is a caring and responsible person. We need board members who have children in our school system. There is no higher involvement than that.

Please do not.accept holly carlson's resignation, she is a cornerstone of the community .

Zero Tolerance is a terrible standard, a terrible standard to teach our children, and a terrible way to treat each other.

I appreciate that Holley is trying to do the right thing but it would be such a loss.

Holley should remain on the school board, please do not accept her resignation!

This would be the right thing to do and you know it.

Our school board is not run by the superintendent. Too little support for positive body of work by Holly, and plenty of others, who've given their all, only to be shown the door after a single incident. Yet troubled administrators, teachers and students are retained after MANY issues and miles of taking the district off course.

Holly can't be lost she's the kind of professional , parent, and volunteer our school district can't afford to loose

We need Holley! Do not let her go!

Why, oh why would we shoot ourselves in the foot by letting Holley go?!

No one has the combo of heart and brains that Holley has. Pls don't accept her resignation.

This is a very silly reason to lose a good School Board member. No children were affected in any way by Carlson's mistake, but many children would be affected by her resignation.

I reject Holly Carlson's resignation.
