Holley acknowledged her mistake and took full responsibility. In this day and age, that in itself is reason enough to reject her resignation!

Not a member of your district, but having raised three children and helping to raise two grandchildren, I believe that this kind of "zero tolerance" behavior is extremely shortsighted.

An honest mistake. It doesn't negate all the good she has done for PT schools. Accept her apology, not the resignation

Please let's move on. Apology given, accepted and now to roll up our sleeves and do great work together. So she screwed up. No long term harm. Lesson learn. I appreciate the work Ms. Carlson is doing and her high standards.

Who amongst us has not had a minor error in judgement. Holley should definately stay on the board!

Frankly, I would want to resign from any organization that felt that toasting a job well-done amongst adults in a mature and responsible way is an offense worthy of resignation. Attracting good people to work tirelessly for our kids ands schools is difficult - let's do the right thing and reject her resignation and hope that she is even willing to stay.

even though I'm not in the PT school district I believe holly is an amazing asset to any district and should stay

While Ms. Carlson's toast was a mistake it hardly warrants her resignation from the school board. While I admire her high standards in accepting personal responcibility I feel it would be a disservice to the community to accept her resignation.

This is a minor issue. Acknowledge the mistake, appiguze and move on. Accepting Holly Catldon's resignation would be a huge mistake. Keep the focus on the kids and all the good that still needs to be done, not on a silly mistake that did not harm anyone.
