FOR A PORT JOLI LOOP

Whereas significant changes were made to plans for a Highway 103 by-pass of Port Joli after public meetings in Port Mouton were called by the Department of Highways to present their original design; and whereas the revised and current plan provides but one, considered dangerous, eastern access to the new highway; and whereas many residents of East Port L’Hebert, Port Joli, and St/Catherine’s River travel to the west to shop, attend church, and visit family; and whereas a significant amount of truck and RV traffic (tending business and the needs of campers and visitors to both Thomas Raddall Provincial Park and Kejimikujic Seaside Park) comes from west of our communities, we the undersigned residents and landowners respectfully request that current plans allowing but one access to the new by-pass be scrapped, to be replaced by a plan that provides for a Port Joli Loop with two points of access, one east of Robertson Hill and the other to the west of the road to E. Port L’Hebert, to the Highway 103 by-pass.
