People opposed to the Port Elgin grade 7 and 8 students being relocated to SDSS

I am ABSOLUTELY against this move to relocate the grade 7 & 8 students to SDSS. I feel that
it’s a “knee jerk” reaction on behalf of the Bluewater board as it was a “knee jerk” reaction to close the rural schools. The Underwood school for example would have eleviated the current problem to some degree. However rural kids didn’t matter!
SDSS is a toxic environment for grade 7 & 8 students. Why are many grade 9 -12 students
being bussed to Owen Sound to complete their education? Could it be that the. Bluewater school board & SDSS is failing in its responsibilities to provide a safe and encouraging learning environment! Let’s throw the
grade 7 & 8 students to the lions! NOT!

These kids need to be leaders in grades 7-8 and build confidence and self esteme. Portables are the way to go!

This is wrong in so many ways. My kids do/will go to G.C. Huston. Transitioning to high school is a huge change as is. Having more than half of your same aged peers already being used to this new school is going to make a huge division... there are sssooo many things not ok with this plan. Our children's education and emotional growth is so much more important than saving a few bucks

I do not support this move. Our children should not be the experiment! The Board should have been on top of the projected growth in our area and how to solve this issue for years instead of throwing a quick fix into the mix that has a lot of cons to the plan.
