Ponto Beachfront Development

Stop developing the few places we have left of open space!!!!!! So tired of the greedy developers destroying our precious land & resources!!! This must stop!!!

Density and height is not what was intended for this space. Review of the general plan, once again. When I purchased my home here 16 years ago, the height restriction was approximately 2 stories. Now look at those plans.

Stop the construction...Carlsbad is going to run out of beachfront

I would join any law suit and fraud investigation regarding deviation from the general plan. It seems like we get a new plan depending on what the current developers want.

The current Developer's proposal provides for inappropriate density and inappropriate use of this precious coastal land that is contrary to current legislation. I oppose any amendments to the current General Plan that would allow this inappropriate density.

I have traveled this road to and from work on a daily basis for the past 10 years as well as on the weekend to enjoy the beach. It has been a beautiful oasis and is increasingly losing its unique character with growing noise, traffic and pollution. I strongly oppose anything that will reduce the rare natural beauty of this area.

Ponto Beach is my favorite beach and oer development of the area would not only make it unnessacerily crowded but also ruin its natural beauty.

Every aspect of this development is above and beyond what the environment and existing community can tolerate in terms of density, habitat destruction, traffic, and noise.

I've lived here for 16 years and Ponto is my favorite beach. I do not want to see this beach get overpopulated & impossible to park at more than it already is. There is already a resort that brings in unwanted tourists so I believe this new development is completely unnecessary.

I have been here for 15 years and we DO NOT need another hotel ruining the already limited parking.

Stop over developments

The streets and beaches are too congested. Crazy drivers hunting for parking places and then inventing new places to park are unsafe. Speeding and traffic is a problem in this area.

A reasonable person will conclude that the only way the current Developer is able to deviate from the current General Plan is due to gross incompetence by the City of Carlsbad and/or Coastal Commission, or via some illegal method such as kickbacks. In addition, purchasers of San Pacifico were told by Greystone/Lennar that the City of Carlsbad had strict building requirements and would not allow 3 story structures during construction and would not occur west of the San Pacifico and neighboring communities. If there is a deviation from the general plan in favor of developer profits to the detriment of residents of the City of Carlsbad, expect a punitive damage lawsuit and a fraud investigation. Once this land is overdeveloped it will be gone forever. Do we really want to rob future generations of this beautiful coastal area that we have all enjoyed?

I am strongly opposed to any changes to the previously approved General Plan, including the requested variances for density, height and setbacks. The proposed Ponto Beachfront plan gives minimal effort to preserving open space or adding value to the surrounding area.

We oppose the proposed height!
