A large hotel/time share is inconsistent with the quality of life in S. Carlsbad. The city major/planners and all involved need to think of the future and quality of life and not bow down to the "I'll gladly layoff my neighbor tomorrow to make a dollar today" peer pressure. All residents in this area came hear for Carlsbad's slow and mange growth and quality of life. The city has a grand opportunity to make a stellar first impression to motorist /tourist /residents driving north on Carlsbad Avenue (101) and not just make a quick dollar with an eye sore of a development.

We moved from OC to Carlsbad 9 years ago because of the open space within the city unlike OC where every single bit of property is developed.
We need to protect what delicate coastal land we have left here in Carlsbad.
I oppose any changes to the current General Plan that would result in a reduction of development quality standards such as inappropriate land use, increased unit density and residential use on the western portion of the site, increased heights of structures, reduced easements and/or setbacks and loss of community and open space.
I oppose any amendments to the current General Plan that would allow this inappropriate density.
I oppose the planned height of the structures in the Developer's proposal. The proposed 3-story structures would be inconsistent with other homes/structures in the area, would likely cause excessive noise from the railroad to the bounced back on existing homes/communities, is inconsistent with a more balanced land use, and would provide an unsightly southern entrance to our otherwise beautiful City of Carlsbad.

We appreciate living in this lovely space so close to the ocean. We ask that the Ponto Beach Development plan be balanced and follow the previous plan. I object strongly to increased density and three story structures that would be unsightly and lack aesthetic and practical values. I appreciate being part of the decision making process.
