If the politicians and health experts are so convinced that lockdowns are proportionate and the only way to deal with containing covid-19, we demand that they contribute from their own personal salaries to make up for the devastating loss of livelihoods, emotional and mental well-being, suicides, domestic abuse that result.
We aren't asking for tax payer money. That is money contributed to the running of society by the people. We can't keep dipping into our collective pockets to pay for the decisions of those in power who aren't transparent and don't listen to other alternatives.
The narrative is heavy handed, manipulative, based in fear, prohibits questioning and debate and drowns out any alternative expert opinion. if we are made to pay time and time again due to those in power enforcing lockdowns on society - its time they gave up their own personal salary and assets to help keep us all it in together.
The losses to the population are becoming devastating. People's lives are falling apart. Through no fault of their own. Not many of us know anyone that has gotten seriously ill or died from covid. But we all know people struggling and seriously suffering due to the degradation of being disabled from earning a livelihood or having their movements controlled.
These negative impacts of lockdowns are consistently ignored. Some people's lives and livelihoods are considered expendable. If the politicians and experts have so much conviction that this is the only way - its time they foot the bill.
We demand that any politician or health expert who enforces any lockdowns present or future give up their salaries for the duration of said lockdown - to be donated to those in need.

When so many livelihoods are being destroyed every time there is a lockdown, politicians making these decisions should forgo their salaries showing support for the people they represent. Maybe these politicians should be paid on performance. When our economy is in the black and businesses and individuals are thriving, then they can have their pay evaluated.

Yep, if politicians knew what it was like to receive no help, they would not resort to lockdowns. Let’s see if they really do believe in lockdowns.
It’s time politicians stood with the people and suffered like we!! There is no way they can have any empathy for what we are suffering lockdown after lockdown while they continue to get pay checks and pay rises!!! Enough is enough! Let’s really see if the believe the line they spew “we are all in this together”
