Background: Since 2006, a federal regulation ("Train Horn Rule" 49 CFR 222) has required trains to sound horns at railroad crossings unless certain "Quiet Zone" criteria are met. A "Quiet Zone" is a half-mile length of track where the FRA requires that trains not sound the horn except in emergencies. To meet the criteria, extra safety equipment is added such as signs and a raised concrete median along the yellow lines in the middle of the street to prevent cars from driving around the closed gates. The existing signs, gates, bells and flashing lights continue to be used.

Safety first but the horns are excessive. Other towns figured this out years ago why are we still dealing with this.
REALLY need this. It is ridiculous how much noise they make when they could just add the medians like everyone else.
I live right by main street and I swear I dont even hear the trains anymore but the horns are piercing. Itll be nice to have some peace.
The horns are so loud at 3am. It wakes up my kids every single night. PLEASE fix this.
Been hearing these trains my whole life but man it is getting old. Just get the quiet zone done.

Finally. My house is close to the tracks and the noise is just constant. Hope this happens soon.
