Homeownership Matters: To People…To Communities…To MISSOURI!
In every U.S. economic recovery since World War II, a strengthening housing market has powered economic growth. With nearly one fifth of America’s economy dependent on the housing sector, and here in Missouri where the real estate industry accounts for 15% of the gross state product, homeownership is not just an economic engine, it's a cultural fabric that binds us all together – fostering stronger communities and creating social stability.
The housing market affects everyone, not just homeowners. Renters, contractors, and a host of housing related services and retailers all benefit from a strong housing sector. Plain and simple, homeownership matters to Missourians.
I pledge to support a healthy and resilient residential housing market that encourages economic vitality and social wellness within our communities.
I believe the American Dream of Homeownership is furthered in Missouri by:
- Ensuring the continued deductibility of real property taxes.
- Protecting critical tax benefits for Missouri homeowners at the federal level such as the mortgage interest deduction.
- Safeguarding consumers in one of the largest and most important transactions of their lives by ensuring they are served by professionals who are regulated by the State of Missouri.
- Opposing overregulation of mortgage financing that unreasonably restricts consumer accessibility to home loans.
I hereby pledge to Protect the American Dream of Homeownership.

The politicians in Jefferson City are still ignoring the needs of Missouri homeowners while they play games with our tax benefits. I have been relentless in pushing for these protections because your security is not a bargaining chip for their political agenda.

Buying a house is the biggest step for most families. We need to protect these tax incentives period.
