I am absolutely shocked to hear of Jill's firing and treatment. "Miss Jill" was my aid for years when I taught in the Green Door and Yellow Door. I have worked at other preschools through the years and Jill remains my favorite aid. No one can match her love for the children, her caring, dedication, patience, fun-loving spirit, and a sixth sense for what a child needed. I am appalled at Kilohana's treatment of such a kind, sweet woman, who was always professional, safety-minded, and hard working. Jill deserves praise and awards, not humiliation and false accusations. Shame on you, Kilohana! Barb Mitori (Miss Barb)

What is going on at the school? I don't understand. I voted for Jessica, the new board member who is also asking questions. Is it truly just ageism? That's such a disservice to the kids, if so.

It is now several weeks since Miss Jill was fired from Kilohana Preschool. I just now read through the very long list of comments from the many people who are totally astounded that this happened. Has there been any response from the Board at Kilohana? Parents seem to be unhappy and concerned about recent changes at the school to the point that some have removed their children! Who is looking into this? I have known Jill for over 30 years. For 27 years, "Miss Jill" has given outstanding service to the school. I know she is greatly loved by the children and appreciated by the many teachers she has assisted. Prior to her years at Kilohana, I had the privilege of working with Jill at Koko Head Keikis - the child centered, nurturing and innovative playgroup she started and lead in Hawaii Kai. Her real understanding of child developmental milestones, age appropriate learning and social activities, and astute attention to children's safety is to be congratulated NOT summarily dismissed as appears to be the case here. One cannot help but think this rings of "Out with the Old and In with the NEW"

We were honored to have had Jill help shape the lives of 2 of our children. She always went above and beyond and was more of an Aunty than a teacher. Jill loved all her students like they were her own. Her hard work, dedication, and love of teaching should be an inspiration to all new teachers. It breaks my heart that Jill was fired. She should instead be revered and awarded for her decades of service and selflesness!

Mrs. Jill was our absolute favorite teacher at Kilohana. My daughter blossomed thanks to her sweetness and patience. Till today my daughter lights up when she sees Mrs Jill in the community.

Jill Edery has proven herself to be a dedicated and kind teacher . Hearing the news of her termination is shocking - Why? There is no logic especially with the experience and love she brings to the school . I urge the Church to take action as Kilohanas preschool reputation is being questioned by many parents and grandparents .

For over 25 years, this woman has been nothing but wonderful to the children who attend Kilohana! She does not deserve to be mistreated by a passion she has been nothing but loyal and excellent at!

Jill taught both my children at day care and they are in their 30’s now. She was positive, patient and caring. I can not imagine what circumstances could lead to her dismissal. I’m disappointed in Kilohana.

I’ve known Jill from way before Kilohana. She had her own playgroup at Koko Head District park in Hawaii kai and did a great job with the keikis. She was the go to person for advice on caring for little ones. She is the most loving, caring, patient AND motivated teacher.

Time for an investigation of the preschool board. There's something very smelly about this, especially when they are treating their number one asset in this way.
