Education is best handled at the State and local level.

Any time the Federal Government is coercing states, with the promise of federal funds if their prescribed programs or policies are adopted, watch out. Once local control is lost, it usually can never be regained.

PLEASE Stop Common Core! Save our schools - Save our children - Save our country! This program is making our kids stupid! We need to teach our children and we need them to learn responsibility. Common Core hinders both!

I'm not even new Hampshire. Back in the '80s, I had to put up with the bullshit known as Semeral setting my math learning back. Eventually, we got back to REAL math. Get this brainwashing out of schools.

CC has destroyed the education for 2 of my grandchildren. One struggles and the other is above average. Schools and Teachers are too concerned about the TEST the educating our young.

The Federal Government should not be allowed to coercse states into adopting regulations thru waivers or offering money. Their should have been public hearings before this was inacted and it should have gone through a legislative process. It should not have come thru the back door by unelected officials. The DATA collection and release of information with out parent consent must be stopped.

I have been reading and going to meetings about Common Core and I find it no more than the Federal Government trying to take over education nationally. This is unconstitutional, but evidently the history that those who think this is good was never taught to them or they refused to understand it.

We have experienced the negative impact of Common Core on four of our five children. We have seen the "dumbing down " of standards resulting in boredom. What is in place for those students that need more? Education is not only about jobs. It is about growing the mind and inspiring learning. One size does not fit all. Teachers are needed to inspire and teach not to facilitate. Teachers make a HUGE difference!

Any nationally imposed standard is a usurpation of individual liberty and rights. The massive pilot program called Common Core is a violation of NH's sovereign right as a state to control K-12 education within its own borders.

Common Core will continue to lead the American Educational System and our children down the path of complacency, and a dumbing down process that will cost us our competitive nature as a people in a rapidly deteriorating culture of mediocrity.

We need to urge NH DOE to STOP, LOOK and CHANGE the developmental inappropriateness of these standards - espeically in grades k-2! We also need to HALT the over emphasis on assessment and take a long pause before we assess the great kids of NH thru the use of smarter balanced. Let's take the lead of our neighbor state- Vermont!
