I coach at Millersville of PA. We lost our men's program in 2012. We fought like crazy to try and keep it. Ultimately our college administrators decided that saving 120k per year was more important than losing our program. Of course they lost over 500k in tuition room and board. It didn't make sense but administrators are not usually known for making sense in my experience. Hopefully your admins remember why sports exist in the first place and do the right thing.

You cannot cut Cross Country, Indoor Track, or Outdoor Track. These sports are special and different from other sports. They teach students how to work for something in their lives because in running, what you put in is what you get out, and you cannot experience this from shooting a basketball or kicking a soccer ball. This is why programs such as Cross Country, and Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field should not be cut. They have taught me so much about working for something in life, and I would hate to see this be taken away from so many innocent high school runners who wish to run in college. Thank you.

Don't take away running from these students, when you do you're taking away something that's part of their life.

These sports need to be saved because it allows young men who aren't endowed with large amounts of strength or height to excel as athletes.

Save two out of the three at least. Eliminate indoor winter track maybe. The other two contribute a lot to the mental and spiritual well being of your entire sports program.

Cross Country and Track has changed my life and it has the opportunity to change the lives of every young man and woman who goes through that program. As long as there is interest from the students, I want to see Cross Country and Indoor, as well as Outdoor Track remain in the budget for RMU.
