Running is less of a sport and more of a lifestyle. You can't cut out something like that.

To some people the running program at RMU might have been the final factor of why they wante to go there...

Unversities have enough money already. Cutting running programs should hardly do anything to increase funds for the rest of the school or its athletic departments anyhow.

I think it would be foolish to eliminate these sports.

Although cross country and track may not generate the revenue that other sports such as football and basket, that does not make them any less essential. To cut these programs would be an injustice to the student athletes that have trained so hard and sacrificed so much for the University.

The cost of operating a varsity cross country program is miniscule to the overall budget. Let's face it, cross country is targeted because it doesn't have the large fan support.

This is just unfair. Tired of this bias towards football and basketball.

You can't drop the true, core sport of running from the school. Insane and foolish.

Sports have played a major role in shaping both my life and that of my son. In this day and age it is important as ever to build minds, mold bodies and develop athletes who work together toward a common goal. RMU Track and cross country have brought students together from all walks of life and provide a much needed outlet as well as build a tight knit family of athletes. Please save these sports from elimination for all future athletes.
