I really think that the Men's Cross Country/Track and field program should not be cut!! It's important to Robert Morris and the students on the teams!!

Cross Country and Track have constantly been in the shadow of other sports. However, looking at the student-athletes in all these sports, Cross Country and Track constantly rank among the highest. To take away these hard working student-athletes passion is not fair and illogical.

I feel this is very poor judgement on behalf of RMU. You will be breaking up a sport that is very much an athletic family. The boys and girls cross country/track and field sport is a very close-knit group on and off the field. I strongly wish you would reconsider your decision.

Cut or take away the University Administrators fat salaries; Hold the highly paid department heads accountable for the money woes by reducing their salaries if they are not generating admissions or developing funds. How's that sound big wigs? I bet the track and xc runners support this thinking.

Cross County and track are such a great sport to bring together people and make new lifelong friends!
Eliminating student opportunities is a negative reflection on the University. More importantly, it greatly affects the lives of students. The benefits of athletics cannot be measured and extends well beyond the classroom. Athletics builds character and fortitude. Athletes learn about goal setting and time management. My alma mater, Millersville University, eliminated the men's running programs and the negative fallout from it is still being felt. Be a role model to the rest of the country and find a way to keep student opportunities like the running programs.

Please stop cutting athletic programs. Our country needs to encourage physical activity and it starts with our children.

Many people have found their passion and true friends through sports. To take away something so beautiful is not only cruel, but selfish. You might think you are saving money, but is it worth the happiness of your current and future students?
