Yet another b****hit excuse when successful athletic teams are cut. And successful doesn't just mean a winning record. They say the money created by cuttng these sports is used to make other sports better, and support them more. But an already successful sport(s) is being cut. Don't let them fool you: It's all about the money, and it always is. Don't believe the sob story and excuses the AD will give you in his statement, because it's not true. These teams getting cut are viewed as the dollar signs that go along with them, not as people. Athletic directors that do this don't give two craps about the athletes. They say they do, but inside, they know very well that they do not. These RMU athletes, and all atheltes on so-called "lesser" sports, deserve better. Hopefully soon an AD will come around that doesn't feel the need to bow to the major sports altar, and make senseless decisions to keep failing major sports (and we all know which one) alive.

Students punished if they leave a scholarship early - let's make schools accountable, too. RMU can't compete in any other sports for next year - apply punishment across board. And, think of THAT savings!

As a runner for the University of Vermont, I understand the amount of work and effort these runners put into their sport. I would like to see your football players go out and run 15 miles in 90 degree weather. It's not easy. Instead of screwing over the runners, budget cuts should be made across everything and keep all players around.

I competed at UAH where my sport was on the chopping blocks too. UAH was more concerned about saving the awful d1 hockey team then they were about keeping their other athletes around. Fortunately they didn't cut us, unfortunately UAH hockey is still losing and sucking every dime out of the athletic department.

Cross Country impacts so many students lives in such a positive way. It would be a huge detriment to RMU across the board to cut the Cross Country and Track and Field program.
