As a college cross country and track athlete this is outrageous! RMU has a pretty well known program and getting rid of it would be terrible, especially to the student-athletes that may have been influenced to go to RMU because of xc and track.

College athletics build community on campus and give students pride in their college/university. Cutting these programs will most probably drive down interest of potential students and in turn lead to a decrease in applicants. .

It would be a shame to see the 2nd best Men's XC team in the NEC no longer exist because of funding issues. They are well-rounded student athletes and deserve to be supported just like any other Division 1 athlete at RMU.

More and more injustice is done every year to collegiate cross country. These are some of the best student athletes around, and they will continue on in their sport longer in life than anyone else. Cutting athletic programs at any level for bugetary reasons is a misappropriation of funds.

It is a very shortsighted decision to cut these sports. Do not assume that no one cares about them because they have a smaller profile comapred to the big sports.

This is outrageous. You have kids on that team that are tremendous athletes and you're going to just take that away from them and not give them any valid reasons as to why. I'm sure if the school were to take a look at their overall budget, they would find other things to eliminate instead of all these sports.

The idea of eliminating track and field from this university is absurd. The quality and commitment of the athletes that this decision will affect is above any realm of comprehension that those in charge of it will ever admit or care about.

This is a bunch of crap. Why would you get rid of the one sport in college that bring people together and enjoy watching young adults do what they love to do. Just remember RMU, if you get rid of those three programs, dont be shocked when you start to see a decrease in your number of students because alot of them will want to leave and compete somewhere else. You will also lose interest of any future students that you may get. By "attacking" the xc and track program, you are messing with a HUGE family. No matter what college you go to, we are one big family and we will stand behind everyone.
